Osso Menengic Ottoman Coffee is a blend of coffee that is carefully crafted using traditional methods and the unique ingredient, Menengic nuts. Menengic nuts are sourced from the Menengic tree, a kind of pistachio tree that grows in the highlands of Southeast Anatolia, Central Anatolia, and the Mediterranean region of Turkey. It is known as Pistacia Perebinthus in Latin and is called Çitlembik, Çıtlık, Bittım, and Çedene according to the regions in which it is grown. The nuts from this tree are collected, washed, and dried, then roasted just like coffee until it turns dark brown. After the normal roasting process, the roasted Menengic nuts are crushed until they reach a dough-like consistency. The obtained oily and granular paste is called Menengic Coffee.
Unlike Turkish coffee, Menengic coffee does not contain caffeine and is gentler on the stomach and digestible. It is a completely natural product and has many benefits, it is useful for shortness of breath, vocal cords, respiratory tract, stomach, and kidney sand. It also has an aphrodisiac effect.
